GOSHEN, Ind. — Enjoy cheesecake and coffee while listening to the blues/soul style of singer and songwriter Venitia Sekema. Her newest CD “Hell on High Heels” released on May of 2007 garnering her praise as a sexy songwriter.
“Those who’ve seen her perform know that she can do blues, but with ‘Hell on High Hells’ she takes that side of her sound and runs with it,”
-The Tibune.
Venitia has been steadily winning over audiences around the Midwest with her straight forward and passionate lyrics that express love, urgency, and the importance of justice in the world. She tours mostly through the great lakes area, including Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Iowa, but her tours have recently included some of the north and south eastern states.
She has also been asked to open for many well known and up and coming performers on the international circuit today, such as Jeff Lang of Australia, Corinne West of California, Robin and Linda Williams, Chris Thele of Nickel Creek and The Wailin' Jenny's, to name a full.
“Music has always been a part of my life as well as the need to express it. Actually, I think I may have sung my first word instead of spoken it,” says Sekema.
