FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
GOSHEN-- New World Arts is proud to present the Pulitzer Prize winning show "Proof" by David Auburn the coming three weekends.
Catherine’s father, Robert, was a brilliant mathematician and professor before his death. But when Hal, a past student of Robert's and recent love-interest of Catherine, finds a monumental proof in her father’s desk, Catherine claims the proof was her work.
This brilliantly written script emphasizes, what Director Mike Honderich calls "a wonderful smattering of the human experience."
"People who come to this show will laugh, cry, gasp, sit on the edge of their seat, and wonder what's going to happen next," he said. "They will leave wondering if our ability to trust others lies in empirical evidence or in taking a leap of faith. They will reconsider what it means to be insane and where the line is. They will debate with each other about which characters were 'right.'"
Honderich said this show will appeal to all--"Parents, children, young, old, lovers, and the broken-hearted... there is something here for everyone."
The show opens this Friday, July 9, at 8 p.m. at New World. Appetizers will be served before the show. Other performances are July 10, 16, 17, 23 and 24.
Tickets are $12 for general admission and $8 for students and seniors. Tickets are available in advance at Better World Books in downtown Goshen or at http://www.brownpapertickets.com/producerevent/100947
This show may not be appropriate for young children because of adult themes and strong language.
