Come to New World Arts this weekend for the final two performances of "Monetizing Emma" in Goshen, plus a talk back session with the playwright.
The futuristic play tells the story of Emma Dorfman, a 15 year-old who deals with bullies, a pushy mom and a Jane Austen obsession. But her life is interrupted when Thackery Walsh, a boutique investment bank, begins the securitization of promising youth, including Emma Dorfman.
The playwright, Felipe Ossa, will be attending Saturday's closing night performance. A wine reception will begin at 7 p.m., followed by the show at 8 p.m. There will also be a talk back with the playwright following the performance.
Remaining performances of "Monetizing Emma" are June 18 and 19 at 8 p.m. at New World Arts.
Tickets for those shows are $8 for general admission and $5 for students and seniors. Tickets are available in advance from Better World Books in downtown Goshen or from Brown Paper Tickets: http://www.brownpapertickets.com/producerevent/100945
Chicago performances will be June 25 at 8 p.m., and June 26 at 8 p.m. at Dream Theater (http://www.dreamtheatrecompany.com/main/index.html).
