FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

GOSHEN – New World Arts is proud to present the Midwest premiere of “Monetizing Emma” by Felipe Ossa at New World’s Goshen location and on the road at Dream Theater in Chicago.

The futuristic play tells the story of Emma Dorfman, a 15 year-old who deals with bullies, a pushy mom and a Jane Austen obsession. But her life is interrupted when Thackery Walsh, a boutique investment bank, begins the securitization of promising youth, including Emma Dorfman.

Laura Gouin, artistic director at New World Arts, is directing the play and is excited both about the show’s Midwest premiere in Goshen, and its weekend run in Chicago.

The play provides “a fresh and edgy look at what happens in a society where everything can be monetized, including the future earnings of our youth,” Gouin said.

“Aside from its relevance to our society, it's a fun show with characters who are at once charming, disarming, and cut throat sharks.”

Whether you look for a moral or just go to enjoy, Gouin guarantees the show will be one to enjoy.

“It's a mix of Victorian and Cyber Punk and lots of fun.”

“Monetizing Emma” will open at New World Arts June 11 at 8 p.m. with coffee and cyber snacks. Other performances will be June 12, 18 and 19 at 8 p.m. at New World Arts.

Tickets for those shows are $8 for general admission and $5 for students and seniors. Tickets are available in advance from Better World Books in downtown Goshen or from Brown Paper Tickets: http://www.brownpapertickets.com/producerevent/100945

Chicago performances will be June 25 at 8 p.m., and June 26 at 3 and 8 p.m. at Dream Theater (http://www.dreamtheatrecompany.com/main/index.html).
