GOSHEN, Ind.--New World Arts is proud to be auditioning for the Midwest Premiere of "Monetizing Emma" by New York playwright Felipe Ossa which will perform at New World Arts for two weekends and at Dream Theater in Chicago for one weekend.
Auditions will be May 1 at New World Arts. Those who want to audition need to arrive at the theater no later than 1 p.m. and be prepared to stay until 3 p.m. if needed. Cold readings will be used for auditions. Please bring resume and headshot if you have one as well as a list of any conflicts you have for the month of May and June.
"Monetizing Emma" is the story of Emma Dorfman, a 15 year-old who deals with bullies, a pushy mom and a Jane Austen obsession. But her life is interrupted when Thackery Walsh, a boutique investment bank, begins the securitization of promising youth, including Emma Dorfman.
Performances at New World Arts will be June 11, 12, 18 and 19 at 8 p.m. Performances at Dream Theater (http://www.dreamtheatrecompany.com/) will be June 25 at 3 p.m. and 26 at 3 and 8 p.m.
Characters:
Emma Dorfman: 15 yr old (or able to play that age range)
Tony D'Orazio: Investment banker. (20s to early 40s)
Colleen Shaw: Investment banker. (20s to early 40s)
Caroline Dorfman: Emma's mother (30's to 50's)
Annie Diamon: 15 or 16 yr old (or able to play that age range)
Vanessa Clay: 15 or 16 yr old (or able to play that age range)
Rehearsals begin in May.
New World Arts is located at 211 South Main Street, Goshen, IN 46526. Parking and the entrance are located off of 3rd. St.
