Event: Student Juried Art Show in Celebration of Our Town by Thornton Wilder
Date and time: Friday July 18th, 2008 7:00 pm

GOSHEN, Ind. — In celebration of the opening of Our Town by Thornton Wilder, the third production in New World Art's monumental season ten, they will be hosting a juried art show with cash prizes of $250 generously donated by Goshen Community Bank.

Middle and High school students (anyone in grades 6-12 in the 2007-08 school year) in Elkhart Co. are invited to submit 1-3 art works for a competition at New World Arts. Submissions must be delivered to New World on July 12 from 9:00 am to noon. Arrangements can be made to drop off the artwork at another time by calling Jennifer at 574-529-4154.

Opening reception to be held at New World Arts on July 18 at 7:00 p.m., the evening New World Arts will open their production of Our Town. Accepted artwork will hang at New World for the run of Our Town. Pieces which are not accepted may be picked up between July 13 and July 17 at New World Arts.

Submission requirements: Each student may submit up to 3 pieces of (preferably 2D) artwork which reflects on the theme Our Town - pieces ought to capture something of your community (any town in Elkhart Co. is fine.) Pieces must be clearly labeled on the back with artists' name, grade level and school, e-mail address (for notification,) and street address. If you'd like to sell your work, please include a price as well.

New World Arts will add an additional 20% to any pieces being offered for sale and will take that percentage as their commission.

Cash Prizes: Best of Show - $150, First Place - $75, and Second Place. - $25
